Here are five destinations featured on visitrhodeisland.com that you can visit in Rhode Island this fall.

1. Barden Family Orchard

October and November are perfect times to visit Barden Family Farm with the many varieties of apples and pumpkins they have available. Families always appreciate being able to roam through the orchard during their visit for the full experience. You'll have to try the apple cider donuts on your trip to the orchard!

2. Casey Farm

Overlooking Narragansett Bay, 300-acre Casey Farm is owned by Historic New England and is the oldest, largest, and most comprehensive regional heritage organization in the county. The house dates back to around 1750 and was a site of Revolutionary activity. There are fields, barns, high stone walls, and a family cemetery that holds six generations of Caseys.

3. The Elms

Straight out of The Gilded Age, The Elms was the summer residence of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Julius Berwind of Philadelphia and New York. Their fortune was made in the coal industry, and they commissioned an architect to design this house in the likeness of a French chateau in Paris. The Elms has been closed for the filming of HBO's The Gilded Age but will reopen on October 29.

4. Simmons Farm

Come and visit this 142-year-old family farm in Middletown to experience the pastoral beauty they have come to be known for. They offer goat hikes, goat yoga, hayrides, and a petting zoo. Be sure and visit the farm stand for heirloom produce, as well as pasture-raised eggs, grass-fed beef, pastured pork, and other seasonal offerings.

5. Matunuck Oyster Farm

Take a tour of Matunuck Oyster Farm to wade into a seven-acre shellfish farm in Potter's Pond. On this unique tour, you will learn how shellfish are cultivated in the local waters and see the different species in all their stages of growth. After the tour, you can enjoy a farm-to-table and pond-to-plate culinary experience at the oyster bar.
